In the Bosnian and Herzegovina Memories project (BiHMe), 100 citizens from various religions, social layers and regions from Bosnian and Herzegovina, were interviewed on video about their personal experiences during the recent war (1992 – 1995). The overall objective of this project is to stimulate social and individual processes of “dealing with the past”. The expectation is that this project will contribute to mutual understanding of the consequences of war for the inhabitants of Bosnia and Herzegovina and will increase the awareness with regards to respect for human rights for all ethnic and religious groups. Noterik provides Oral History tools to store, index and publish the interviews on the project website http://www.bosnianmemories.org

BiHMe is funded by the Netherlands Embassy in Sarajevo (MATRA programme) and conducted by a consortium consisting of Center for Investigative Reporting (CIN), Human Right Center of the University of Sarajevo, the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Twente University, Data Archiving and Networked Services (DANS) and Noterik.
